RIVERVIEW, Fla. — Priscilla Conyers is realizing early success in her journey as one of the owners of Eggs Up Grill in Riverview, Florida. The podcast For Realness Sake featured Priscilla in a recent episode during Black History Month.
Conyers talked about how important it is to have representation as a local business owner in the community.
“Just being able to represent for the African American community– the brown community–for them to know that someone looks like me and she was able to do it. It’s important for me to lead by example to the best of my ability,” said Conyers.
Conyers, along with her husband John and friend and business partner Angela Perry, opened Eggs Up Grill in the Tampa Bay area in November. Conyers and Perry are both pharmacists. Her husband John is a firefighter. Conyers described visiting the Eggs Up Grill in Albany, Georgia and discovering the brand for the first time.
“We fell in love with the food, the culture, the overall vibe was so good. The service was just amazing. We thought we needed to bring something like that to the Tampa Bay area.”
Eggs Up Grill in Riverview opened to record-shattering sales through dine-in, takeout and delivery channels. And Conyers believes making a personal connection with their guests is critical to their ongoing success.
“Here at Eggs Up Grill our guests feel welcome, feel right at home. And that’s the experience we want then to feel. That’s what we represent, that’s what we’re all about. We want this to be your Happy Place!”
Eggs Up Grill Riverview is also focused on the brand’s motto of Neighbors Serving Neighbors. The restaurant is partnering with Feeding Tampa Bay which helps provide meals for up to 1500 families in need in the community.
