Forbes: Eggs Up Grill Restaurant Franchise Expanding Despite Intense Breakfast Competition

The nearly 40 location restaurant projects ending the year with another opening and setting the pace for a strong 2020.

In a crowded better breakfast restaurant franchise category, Eggs Up Grill, a 36 location emerging brand that focuses on, “serving smiles from sunup to lunch,” is finding its footing, according to a Forbes article by industry reporter Gary Stern.

Smiles are shared around the breakfast table as guests enjoy Eggs Up Grill’s most popular dishes

Eggs Up Grill CEO Ricky Richardson, the former president of TGI Fridays, said despite perceptions, the category is not saturated

“It’s not,” he told Stern. “That’s where our development strategy makes sense. We’re well-positioned to grow in secondary and tertiary markets. For example, we have eight restaurants in the upstate area of South Carolina and growing rapidly. We won’t go into New York, Washington, D.C, or Charlotte. But we’d go into the suburbs, where we could be close to the community, where people live, work and play.”

The brand also showcases strong financial performance. Average restaurant sales in the Eggs Up Grill system range from $980,871 for locations four years or older (10 restaurants) to $922,102 for all restaurants one year or older (as of March 2019.) More information can be found in the brand’s latest franchise disclosure document, or FDD.

Strong unit level economics, a smart brand building growth strategy, plus its “neighbors serving neighbors” positioning sets the emerging franchise up for a strong close to 2019 and 2020.The breakfast, brunch and lunch brand has opened six locations so far in 2019 with three more planned to open before the end of the year, marking its ninth opening of the year.

For those looking to buy an Eggs Up Grill franchise, cost of entry is relatively low for a full-service restaurant. Startup costs range from $462,330 to $653,680 and include an initial franchise fee of $39,000.
