Eggs Up Grill Executes Multi-Unit Development Agreement for Melbourne, Florida
Brand signs 10 groups of franchise partners year to date, adding 33 restaurants to pipeline
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Eggs Up Grill, a rapidly expanding breakfast, brunch, and lunch concept, has signed a multi-location development agreement with Chris Schmidt, a former Denny’s director, to open Eggs Up Grill in the Melbourne, Fla. market. The agreement comes during a record-breaking year for the Brand in both new restaurant openings and development commitments. So far, eight restaurants have opened in 2023 with another 10-12 under development for openings through year-end. Year-to-date, Eggs Up Grill has signed on 10 different groups of franchise partners, adding more than 30 restaurants to its rapidly increasing development pipeline. Schmidt plans to open the first of his locations in early 2024.
“Our Brand’s consumer appeal, scalability, and financial performance is enabling so many partnerships like Chris Schmidt’s, in which our support and expert resources, specifically in development, training, and technology, make Eggs Up Grill one of the most appealing in our segment in terms of what we offer to multi-unit franchisees,” said Ricky Richardson, CEO of Eggs Up Grill. “We are honored that Chris chose Eggs Up Grill to realize his long-time dream of owning a family business.”
Schmidt has spent the last five years as senior director of information security for Denny’s. He began researching franchise opportunities to open in Melbourne, Fla – he and his wife are alumni of Florida Tech – after they returned to the coastal area in 2000. Their goal was to eventually open and scale a business that could help integrate them back into the community they love.
“After spending the last five years in the restaurant industry, what really sets Eggs Up Grill apart is its smaller real estate footprint and its technology capabilities, which was positive to see in a brand that’s growing,” said Schmidt. “I also love the hours with the simple breakfast, brunch, and lunch model, as well as the brand’s momentum.”
Eggs Up Grill recently released its 2023 FDD showing record-setting sales figures, with restaurant average sales volumes topping $1.375 million* for the top 50 percent of restaurants. The Brand has a region-wide presence of more than 170 restaurants open, under development or committed to open across the Carolinas, Georgia, Florida, Virginia, Tennessee, Alabama, and soon entering Texas, Ohio, and Mississippi.
Eggs Up Grill offers a unique experience for guests and franchise partners alike. Its great-tasting food and drinks, uniquely friendly service, and everyday affordability make Eggs Up Grill a number-one choice for guests. The single-daypart operation, appealing investment economics, and top-quality franchisor support are highly attractive to franchisees.
